In 1910 C. F. Cooper & Co. of Chicago published The History of Duluth & St. Louis County, Minnesota, by Dwight Woodbridge and John Pardee. This book covers the history of Duluth spanning from the days of the voyageurs through 1910 and includes a year-by-year account of Duluth’s pioneer days. The book also contains histories of local businesses, social and business clubs, churches; biographies of prominent businessmen (most of whom likely paid to have their biographies included); and the (not always reliable) recollections of pioneers. Readers will also find J. D. Ensign’s history of Duluth’s harbor. You can read both volumes of Woodbridge & Pardee’s compilation thanks to Google Books:
