This Saturday, September 16, Duluth’s new Zenith Bookstore at 318 North Central Avenue in West Duluth—next to Beaner’s Central—will host a Grand Opening Book Fair in its parking lot from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Zenith City Press will be setting up shop at the fair, with all our our titles discounted from 25 to 75 percent, including our brand new Duluth’s Historic Parks. Nancy Nelson, coauthor of the parks book, will be signing books from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., and author and publisher Tony Dierckins (Lost Duluth, Duluth’s Historic Parks, Glensheen: The Official Guide, Crossing the Canal, etc.) will be available to sign books during the entire book fair.
Other participants include Duluth’s Hoy Cow! Press, Lake Superior/Port Cities Publishing, and past and present Duluth poet laureates Ellie Schoenfeld, Deborah Cooper, and Sheila Packa. The Duluth Children’s Museum and Lake Superior Writers will also participate, along with authors Brian Freeman, Linda LaGarde Grover, Lorna Landvik, and Barton Sutter. Teague Alexy will provide live music, and there will be “food and fun for the community.” Ten percent of sales will go to support the Big Red Bookshelf.
