Historic Architecture of the Zenith City
Tony Dierckins and Maryanne C. Norton
Lost Duluth by Tony Dierckins and Maryanne C. Norton, a finalist for the Minnesota Book Award, introduced readers to the stunning architecture of Duluth’s past, buildings and landmarks that no longer exist. In Duluth’s Grand Old Buildings, Dierckins and Norton return to celebrate the historic architecture that still stands—from beautiful business blocks in styles ranging from Romanesque to Art Deco to the city’s municipal monuments designed and inspired by Daniel Burnham to graceful churches and schools that reflect the community’s concern for its quality of life and the education of its children. The book is still a work in progress, but you can preview much of it by visiting the Zenith City Press Archive’s “Historic Architecture” page.
