FREE Superior Street History Tours start this week

Zenith City Press has teamed up with the Duluth Experience and the city of Duluth to create free historic walking tours of Superior Street during its reconstruction project.

The tour covers the portion of Superior Street undergoing renovation between Third and Seventh avenues west, exploring the history and evolution Duluth’s main thoroughfare and the stories behind many of the buildings that give downtown Duluth its character.

To participate, people should pre-register by calling (218) 464-6337 or by visiting theduluthexperience.com/superior-street-reconstruction-project.

The tours will last about one hour and each group will be limited to about 10 people. Participants should be at least 13 years of age, and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult guardian.

Two tours will be offered daily on the following dates—one at noon and another at 4:30 p.m.:

  • Tuesday, July 10th
  • Tuesday, July 24th
  • Tuesday, August 7th
  • Tuesday, August 14th

    Just wish I were there to take one of those tours. They will be wonderful as the structures on Superior Street were magnificent!
