You asked for it: Daily “This Day” emails are back!

Your response to our plan to cut down on your email in-box clutter has been clear: The vast majority of our readers want to receive a “This Day in Duluth” every day.

So starting tomorrow morning (May 5) we are bringing them back—but now you can customize exactly what you want to receive from us. At the bottom of each email you will find this:

Want to change how you receive these emails?
You can update your preferences or unsubscribe from this list

When you click “update your preferences,” it will take you to a web page (see image below) where you can select which emails to receive: Our weekly Monday updates (news, book events, new stories, or a selection from our archive), our daily “This Day in Duluth” posts, our Wednesday “Vintage Art Design” feature, any two of those campaigns, or all three. (And of course you can access our entire collection of “This Day” stories any time you like by visiting the “This Day” archive.)

If you received an email about this post, that means you are currently signed up to receive all three campaigns. To customize your settings, return to that email and click on “update your preferences” near the bottom of the page. If you don’t receive our emails and want to sign up, click here.

History from the distant past (older than 50 years)

I like the daily stories. Just the right length.

You are doing a great job.

If it is not broken, don’t fix it.

I love reading about historical Duluth but for some reason I’m not getting emails anymore. Your site says that I am a subscriber. Can you help?

Yes, we are having some issues delivering our This Day email, but we are working on it.
