Duluth Imperial Flour “Airship” Sign

This week‘s featured design from Zenith City Press’s line of vintage reproduction art comes from a color lithographic advertisement published ca. 1895. The Duluth, Minnesota, flour mill was the most modern flour mill when it was constructed in the late 1880s, and at one point the largest flour mill in the world. The whimsical design indicates that Imperial flour will make your bread so light and airy it could serve as a hot-air balloon and includes this fun little poem:

As our airship proudly raises,
On high we hear the praises,
And our song the world amazes
By its truth

For we sing of product cereal,
Which makes our bread ethereal,
And is known as flour “Imperial”
From Duluth!

This design is available as a print (framed or unframed on canvas, art paper, metal, or wood), greeting and beach and bath towels. Want it on something else? Email us and we’ll see if we can make it available!
